take a step back and think ,other than the people we interact with on a daily to daily basis how many of us have really called up our old friends who are maybe in some other part of the world or country and not just stopped with email or some IM conversation,i get the impression nowdays the internet is replacing the regular conversations we normally have,when I was in college and that was just 2 years back or so ,i used to use instant messanger but i would always prefer to go and talk to someone face to face or atleast over the phone but nowdays do we bother to do that ,and how many of us have really sent a real greeting card other than a Ecard maybe last christmas ,i personally feel face to face communication is breaking down and its going to break down even more in the future,one of my friends gf broke up with over myspace now how stupid can that be ..not even face to face or a phone call......

Just like writing letters and reading books made from paper, there are some things we as people will not want to abandon, even if they are declared "obsolete" by some techno-fetishist.

The world depicted in The Minority Report is something I deem a direction not to go - forget a future where due process and The Bill of Rights are vacated - just the invasive advertising and insistence of "The System" or "The Sales Analyst" knowing where one is and what they are doing is truly frightening.

I do write letter-length emails, but when I can, personally insist on either face to face or phone conversations. I have no use for text or IMs. No idea what to do with MySpace, so I did not bother. I prefer my music on disc, not a file. I start my illustrations with an old-fashioned architect's pencil my Dad gave me.

I'm not really a Luddite, I just prefer interacting with other people and I enjoy the quirks of myself and my friends. There may even be a cultural move to "Reconnect" as things move to and fro in cycles.

XBox Live is fun, but paintball or airsoft in the woods with your buddies is better.

I used to think I had avoidant personality disorder but now i'm not so sure that's it. I like communicating with my friends online through myspace emails %26amp; such but i can't do it in the real world unless there's alcohol involved. I hate talking on the phone(am too boring, cant carry on a conversation) and I hate being in the presence of anyone but except for my boyfriend %26amp; his sons. I don't like anyone knowing anything about me or my life for fear of judgement, and i'm also very paranoid that people are talking/making fun of me behind my back all the time. so the way i think of it is the less people know about me means the less bad things people have to say about me.

is this something i should get help for..? i've been this way my whole life. it's been eating at my conscious A LOT lately because for the 9 hours i'm at work i'm around all these people that are friends and have communication flowing freely but i'm just not apart of it all, %26amp; i wish i could be...

Hello all, I am in need of serious help. This last Tuesday, my GF dumped me. Not because she wanted to, but because of her parents. I am in some serious crisis right now, and I can tell that she doesn鈥檛 want to give me up, and I don鈥檛 want to give up on her. I am 17 and she is 15 and we both really care. But her parents have forced her to dump me, remove me from her myspace, and maybe soon YIM/MSN. She's only 15, don't make waves with her parents, it will only get worse. I think you should lay low for a while. Tell her that you'll be there when this blows over. If it's real love' she'll be there in 3 years.... she'll be 18 and you two are both legally adults. In the mean time get your grades up get into college. We are in a long distance relationship because i got kicked out so i had to come stay wit my dad six hours away from him.He calls me everyday to check to see if i'm ok. He told me all his email passwords and myspace passwords to let me know he has nothing to hide. He tells me tha he loves me and that i mean the world to him, and he wanted me to come back and live wit him, i cant right now because i'm in school. Well whenever girl's in a long term relationship, especially the teenage girls, you ALWAYS "see yourself being with him forever". Did he voluntarily give you his passwords or did he have to because you were so insecure about him being so far away? Don't also do worry about him not calling you every minute of the day. He does have to have a life too. About the whole he can pass for 18 thing, by law renters are supposed to do a criminal background check(sometimes a credit check too) so they'd probably find out he's not 18. I like your concept of good and bad, much more mature then most other ideologies, but you fall for the same flaw as most. Which is why like most religions you'll fail. No offense, its just the truth. That frist paragraph held truth I can not conflict with, didn't matter what symbols you used, the understand in their is undebatable. but then after that, its symbol, after symbol, after symbol, of humanize crap. No offense, I love nice hard to pronounce names, but as far as my spirtuality goes you can take that flaw'd humanize symbolism, your words, and shovel them up your #$@#$. Until people realized that all that complicated mobo-jobo does is serparte people from each other, were never going to have a singlar form of spirutiality.
