Does Sturgeon's Revelation apply to the Internet?

(Ted) Sturgeon's Revelation says "Ninety percent of everything is crud." Does this apply to the Internet as a whole, or only to certain parts of it, like blogs, music and video sites and online communities like MySpace? Should we try to fix this problem, or is it educational to sift the wheat from all the chaff out there? Is the Internet an accurate reflection of the 'real world'?

I really emphasize with the old-school publishers of books who had to sift through the 'slush piles' to find the gems. Today, you can read the slush online.

I think it all depends on how u look at it.

Internet could be crap for some and heaven for someone.

If we think in terms of the information that u can get from Internet it certainly applies as you see below.

let say i am looking for info on Wifi on Search engines

95 % of the results are not relevant to what i am looking for though there is twist to this as it also depends on how good i am in using the Search engines for an effective ans.

I think we should leave the blogs out of this cause blogs and personal so they could be crap for u and me but not for the one who is writing it.

thats for now. i have put up my thinking hat. i will get back,

Does Sturgeon's Revelation apply to the Internet?

Better answerto follow, but for now, lets leave the crud there, it閳ユ獨 fun watching the people who never learned to do real research trip themselves up.
